And when God told him to go preach to Nineveh, the violent enemy, Jonah didn’t panic because he doubted God. He ran because he understood him. He knew God might forgive them. He knew God might show mercy. That’s the part that hits in this story. Jonah trusted God’s character… He just didn’t like where God was aiming it. Amos wasn’t rejected because he was wrong. He was rejected because he wouldn’t protect the image.
