”Then Satan entered into Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve disciples, and he went to the leading priests and captains of the Temple guard to discuss the best way to betray Jesus to them. They were delighted, and they promised to give him money. So he agreed and began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus so they could arrest him when the crowds weren’t around.“
Luke 22:3-6
”It was time for supper, and the devil had already prompted Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.“
John 13:2 NLT
”When Judas, who had betrayed him, realized that Jesus had been condemned to die, he was filled with remorse. So he took the thirty pieces of silver back to the leading priests and the elders. “I have sinned,” he declared, “for I have betrayed an innocent man.” “What do we care?” they retorted. “That’s your problem.” Then Judas threw the silver coins down in the Temple and went out and hanged himself.“
Matthew 27:3-5
Judas felt remorse.
Judas felt profound guilt.
Judas said: I have sinned.
But, Judas went to the wrong government to express his grievances of actions. Judas should have repented to the Father!!! Judas should have laid his body before the Governmental structure of the King of Kings and lamented his wrong doings there, not to the worldly structure of kingdom. “IM SORRY LORD, FORGIVE ME!” should have been his cry.
Realizing you did something wrong is not repentance.
Judas’s remorse to the chief priest & elders was not repentance of sin. Matthew does not have Judas repent, as Peter did in Matthew 26:75.
Please know: There is a difference between feeling sorry over something we have done, and actually repenting of it.
Let Judas’ story be a warning. Do not let anything: rather sin, shame, guilt, fear, etc keep you from God.
God does have mercy and grace but only to those who repent to the right Kingdom structure. [The Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit]
